    Vanguard tv3
    The Vanguard tv3 was the United States first attempt to launch a satillite into space. It was being launched perfectly, and then it stalled and crashed. The rocket was completly destroyed, the launching pad was severly damaged, and the satillite was found little ways away, still sending out it's signal. Thankfully, no one was killed or wounded in this accident.
  • Apollo 1

    Apollo 1
    Planned to be the first manned mission of Apollo’s Lunar Landing Series, this space craft was struck by tragedy, killing Virgil Gus Grissom, Edward White and Roger Chaffee. According to the final report of NASA, there were various flaws in the design of the plane which resulted as fire in the cockpit. Three lives were lost within a moment as they were suffocated by the poisonous gases and fire.

    The Soyuz 1 was the first maned spacecraft to go into space. Carrying the cosmonaut Vladimir Komarov, it's mission was to go into space, meet Soyuz 2 (holding Yuri Gagarin), swap members, and come back to earth. But while going into space, Soyuz 1became plauged with technical issues, and crashed.

    The X-15 had been dropped out of the mother ship at 10:30 a.m. and started to head for space. when the plane reached it's maximum altitude, it started yawing. At 230 000 feet, it went into a spin. As the driver lost control, it started heading toward the ground. After ground control tried to gain control, it plummeted toward the ground. It landed in the desert and the X-15 was destroyed, along with the owner.

    Yuri Gargarin was the first man to go into space, and has been helping with space ever since. But then, people started giving him less respect and mean to him. So, on a space mission that was suicidal, Yuri signed up. After being blasted, the space capsule rocketed down to earth, and as Yuri yelled "You have killed me!" the capsule smashed into earth and became flat which squished Yuri.

    The Soyuz 11 was on it's course back from it's 25 day trip. when it was in the atmosphere, it applied it's pyro cartridges. But, instead of firing them sequencially, they were fired simultaneously, causing a discharge that opened a seal. At a height of 168 km, the cabin pressure dropped to 0, killing the crew in less than 30 seconds.

    The Vostok Rocket was a Russian ship. After it blasted off, a malfunction onboard caused it to stall and explode. All 50 people at the control center were killed.

    The challenger shuttle blasted off on Jan. 28 1986, as always, to go into space. but 73 seconds after, it blew up, killing everyone inside.

    Sergei Vozovikov was part of the cosmonaut training group 11. His Cosmonaut training was from 1 October 1991 to 6 March 1992. While he was training for water recovery, on July 11, 1993 he drowned.
  • Columbia shuttle

    Columbia shuttle
    The Columbia shuttle was coming back normal until we lost contact. Minutes later, there were 911 calls all over Texas and Louisiana as NASA went into emergency mode. The president came back and got the news. at 2 p.m. Bush tells the United States, "the Columbia is lost. there are no survivors".
