Morrison was the fifty-seventh mayor to serve Charleston South Carolina. He was the first person to be elected sentor three terms in charleston.

Morrison was re-elected in 1951, Making this his second term that he served for Charleston.

Morrison was re-elected for the 3rd time. Also, made history in Charleston for being the first sentor elected for the 3rd time.

In the year 1957, Morrison was diagnosed with throat cancer. He went through several radiation treatments which really hurt him in the end.

He ran again for the fourth election and lost by 455 votes. J. Palmer Gaillard JRr. is the one that beat him and become the next sentor for Charleston SC.

In 1959 he went to his last city council meeting. He knew he was becoming to ill with his kidney problems, and weak from his radiation treatment.

Morrison passed away January 1st, 1960. He was buried in St. Philip's Episcopal Church Cemetery. He died from a long illness.
