    Magna Carta

    The Magna Carta contained two ideas to help shape Britian and America. Monachras had to obey the law and they couldn't raise raxes without permission.
  • English Bill of Rights

    The English Bill of Rights protected the rights of citizens. It upheld the right to a trial by jury and allowed citizens to bear arms.
  • Articles of Confederation

    The Articles of Confederation was the first American Constution that created a very loose alliance between the 13 states.
  • Land Ordiance of 1785

    The Land Ordiance of 1785 set up a system for settling the Northwest Territory. The law called for for the territory to be surveyed and divided into townships.
  • Shay's Rebellion

    Shay's Rebellion was when angry farmers attacked courthouses and prevented the state from seizing farms.
  • Constutional Convention

    The Constutional Convention was held to revise the Articles of Confederation.
  • Great Compromise

    DUring the Great Compromise delegates narrowly approved Shermans plan. Each side gave up some demands to achieve unity.
  • Signing the Constution

    Delegates came forward one by one to sign the constution.
  • All states ratified

    The last state to ratify was Rhode Island and then all the nations celebrated that the constution was ratified.
  • Bill of Rights

    three fourths of the states had ratified 10 of the 12 ammendments those 10 became known as th eBill of Rights.
