    Infant rage happens when a baby is distressed. The baby will turn red, swing their arms and legs excitedly, and cry loudly. When parents comfort the infant when they learn trust.
  • Fear in infants, age 4-5 months

    Babies develop fear for strangers. They will also fear someone they know with a different hair style, hats, sungleasses, ect. However, children din't fear children they dont' know.
    Caregivers can instill certaing fears in infants but too much fear will effect their development.
  • Anger in infants, age 8-10 months

    Infants begin to form anger towards objects at this age. They can become phyisical by grabbing, hitting, leaving the persont that is holding them. Infants get angry when they are being held without a choice, and toys are taken from them. Parents can help this by holding the child close for a little while.

    Anxiety- the fear of a possible future event (worry or concern).
    Separation anxiety- caused by the fear that loved ones who leave them will not return. Children get anxious when their parents are leaving for work or to run errands and have to leave them for a while. Infants begin to realize that the parent is leaving by picking up clues like picking up car keys. Caregivers can help this by leaving the infant with someone they are familiar with.

    Fear begins to increase at the age of two. Toddlers know of objects and situations more that can hurt them. Common fears are animals, injury, monsters, and "bad people". Toddlers tend to act them out instead of talking about them. Parents can help them by nit making fun of them when they are afraid. Also they can reduce the ammount of television they watch.

    Separation anxiety continues in toddlers. Some toddlers will grasp the concept of the parent coming back. Communication helps this. Also when the toddler is in loving care when the parents are gone they won't feel alone. Nioghtmares also beigin at this age.

    Temper tantrums begin at this age. Toddlers are becoming more independent. They react with a temper tantrum when they are angry. During the tantrum children will kick and scream. Parents can leave them alone as long as they are in a safe environment. When it's over the parent can give the toddler love and reassurance.

    Adults shouldn't make fun of the child's fear. They should only take care of one fear at a time and show courage so the child doesn't have to be afraid.
  • Anger & aggression in preschoolers, age 5

    Preschoolers tend to hit others when they are mad. Adults should be able to stop aggresion before it happens in a group of play. Parents shouldn't spank their child because they are showing aggression that they are trying to get rid of. Children need to know that it is ok to be angry but it needs to be controlled.
