In 1998, 3G mobile networks were launched. This was also when the first downable content became available which was customizable ringtones. -

In 1999, the Nokia 7110 was released which was the first phone to have the WAP browser. This allows people to browse the internet on their phones. -

In 1999, Samsung came out with SPH-M100 this was the first phone to also have an MP3 Player. This gave the option to play music, and also had a pause/play button. -

The first phone with a camera also came out in 1999. The Kyocera VP-210 VisualPhone was the first phone with a front facing camera and could hold up to 20 photos. -

In 2001, the Ericsson T39 came out with the first cellphone to have the Bluetooth feature. -

In 2002, the Sanyo SCP-5300 came out which was the first phone to show the photos on the screen. This meant that people didn't have to plug their phone in a computer. This phone also had flash, and dual colour display. -

In 2007, the iPhone 2G was released this was the first phone with no physical hardware buttons, and had a touch interface. -

In 2008, the HTC Dream was released by Android. It was judged because of its lack of functionality, but it was praised for it's integration with Google -
