Some White Hill staff attended California League of Middle Schools conference--Led to first implementation of teaming structure
Final recommendation from the RVSD facilities sub-committee made to Board: one middle school for RVSD-- “get big to get small”
Roxanne Higgins visited WH to conduct a schedule analysis--Higgins submitted a report based on SLC’s, common planning time, pure teams, and a 7-period day with two planning periods (one for individual, one for team)
Board agreed to SLC document for grades 7 & 8
Began building design process--focus on facilitating SLC’s in grades 7 & 8--English, history, math, science on each floor; English/history, math/science sharing moveable wall
Scheduling model for English/History/Science implemented--teachers had common students and planning time
