    The Missouri Compromise was to decide wether Missouri would be a free or a slave state. So they made the 36' 30' line which let Missouri be a slave state and Maine joined the union as a free state to balence the senate.

    Nat Turner's Rebellion
    Nat Turner Rebellion was a group of slaves lead by a preacher name Nat Turner. The group of slave went and killed around 60 plantation owners. This caused more abuse on slaves to make sure they wouldn't rise up and rebel again.

    Dred Scott was a slave born in 1799. His owner moved to a free territory and there he tried to sue for his freedom but the court decided that slave are property therefore not people before the law. Then after years of being a slave his owner gave him his freedom.

    The Underground Railroad was system created by abolitionist and free slaves. I was made up of a network of stations where runaway slaves could hide. People who ran stations where called staion masters and then there where people called conductors that lead slaves to freedom. The Underground Railroad was a big event that was kept secret.

    The Compromise of 1850 was made to make California a free state and still make the south happy. To make the south happy they recieved the fugitive slave law, which was if any blacks were found they could be taken into slavery without trial. Another thing in this Compromise is Texas received 10 million to pay all debt to Mexico.

    Harriet Beecher Stowe was the auther of Uncle Tom's Cabin. This book was about the sufferings and hardships endured by slaves. This book caused many people to have a bad view on slavery.

    The Kansas-Nebraska Act was a act passed to let settlers decide wether the state would be a free or slave. This caused a huge rush of Pro and Anti slavery settlers to move into Kansas. During this time many fights broke out between the two groups, one famous leader of the Anti slavery settlers was John Brown. To stop the violence Franklin Pierce sent in troops to stop it.   • Presidential Election of 1860

    the four cannidits in the election of 1860 was Abraham Lincoln, Stephan Douglas, John Breckinridge, and John Bell. All canidates had a different view on slavery. Abraham Lincoln had a modrate view because he didnt want to get rid of slavery he just wanted to stop it from expanding. Stephan Douglas also had moderate view on slavery but wanted the states to decide on weather or not they will have slaves. John Breckinridge had a aggresive view on slavery and wanted it to expand.
  • South Carolina Secedes from the Union

    South Carolina Secedes from the Union
    after Abraham Lincoln won the election of 1860, South Carolina secedes from the Union. They secede because they are angry that Lincoln won without one Southern vote.
