General Ambrose Burnside of the Union Army orders the suspension of the Chicago Times. Too many repeated on disloyal and incendiary sentiments.

Amendment 14 is ratified. "No state shall deprove anyone's religion, freedom, or property. They should not deny to any jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."
