    Production
    Colonies could only trade with Great Britain, the good they needed such as, textiles, metals, chemicals, glass, and paper. The English needed a way to meet the demand to manufacture more goods to transport to their colonies. They decided to build factories to manufacture those goods. This lead to an increas of manufactured goods and a decrease of hand-made goods.

    As more people were hired in factories, society began to change. More people started moving into cities from farmlands. They lived hard and brutal lives in the city. Their standard of living was very bad. Cities had no capacity to handle the number of migrants. Tough labor conditions, child labor, and lack of adequate pay led to the creation of labor unions. It took many years for governments create laws to protect the living conditions of workers and to guarentee a minimum wage.

    The Industrial Revolution created a shift from land-based wealth to industrial wealth. It created a middle class of expert labor and a working class of un-skilled workers. It created banking, and changed the way governments regulated economy, and social matters (protect the workers, manage credit, currencies, employee laws, ownership, taxation,and welfare)
