Scientist Timeline

  • Thomas Edison

He was born in 1847. His inventions and equipment allowed people to live more comfortably. His inventions created entertainment as well. His telegraphs let people send messages faster and also during time of war they saved lives. In 1874, he created the quadruple telegraph. 1876 he created the carbon resistance telephone transmitter. 1877 He invented the phonograph. 1883 he discovered and experimented with electrical discharge. 1888 he found and created motion pictures.
  • Marie Curie

She created an unusual invention which was the mobile radiology that she took on the battlefield for WW1. This invention killed her researcher to an excessive exposure to X-rays due to her invention. In 1906 Curie and her husband discovered radium and polonium which allowed to define the properties of radioactivity which was also created by her. She also bought radiology to the front lines by having cars bring portable x-rays.
  • Guglielmo Marconi

Marketed the first long-distance wireless telegraph and in 1901 he broadcast ed the transatlantic radio signal. His radios saved thousand of lives along with reducing isolation of ocean travel. in 1909 he received the Nobel Peace Prize in Physics for the radio work. For two decades, he continued bettering his inventions and experimenting with shortwave broadcasts and testing transmission distances on his yacht.
  • Albert Einstein

Albert's inventions to science were phenomenal and that is why he is known to be the world's greatest scientist. His different discoveries and theories led scientists to understand new ways to look at energy, matter, gravity, space, and time. His quantum theory of light then led to the inventions of the television that then gave the idea to technologists to come up with other ideas such as the cellphone. Also, his E=mc2 connected with the link between mass and energy.

  • Jonas Salk

He is well known for inventing the Polio vaccine. Before the vaccine to prevent Polio was created, America was in fear of the infectious viral disease that was affecting many people. In 1947 Jonas was working on a curb to the devastating disease and it took him five years to find a prevention. His vaccine decreased the number dramatically of the number of infected.
