German Blitzkrieg
Blitzkrieg is a term for lightning war. Germany used this war tactic to invade Poland with the Soviet Union. They used this tactic to throw the other army off guard because no one can prepare for a lightning war. The aftermath of German Blitzkrieg was Poland’s occupation. -
Germany's invasion of Poland
Late 1939 Germany and the Soviet Union invaded Poland. Germany invaded from the West and the Soviet Union invaded from the East. They invaded Poland because they wanted to gain more land and that was the only territory Hitler hasn't invaded yet. The aftermath was WW2 and Poland was split in 2. -
Pearl Harbor
The bombing of Pearl Harbor happened on December 7 , 1941. The Japanese bombed an American Harbor called Pearl Harbor because we the United States decided to stop giving the Japanese oil. The United States Navy defeated a Japanese attack against Midway Atoll. This battle happened because the Japanese wanted to invade the island of Midway. The after math of this battle was the Japanese lost a large percentage of their Navy. -
D-Day (Normandy Invasion)
D-Day is when Americans, Britain’s, and Canadians went to a French beach called Normandy. They did that because the Soviet Union wanted the Allied forces to open up another front so the Soviet Union isn’t taking up the full force of the German Military. The aftermath of D-Day is the allied forces took over the beach which lead to the Third Reich. -
Dropping of the Atomic Bombs
America dropped 2 atomic bombs on Japan. One in Hiroshima and the other one in Nagasaki. President Truman decided to bomb Japan in order to save America from land invasion. The aftermath of this was thousand of lives killed and the end of the war. -

The United States invaded the island of Iwo Jima defeating the Japanese there. This battle happened because the United States wanted to capture the airfields so they could bomb Japan’s main land. The aftermath of this battle was Japan lost the island and the United States bombed the main land. -

The United States invaded the island of Okinawa defeating the Japanese. This battle happened because the United States wanted to take over the AirForce base for operation downfall. The aftermath of this battle is the United States took over the island of Okinawa. -

Battle of the Bulge
A bulge was made on the Americans defensive line causing the line to break causing German troops to encircle American troops. This happened because Germany needed to prolong the war on the Western Front so they could try to push back on the Soviet Union. The aftermath of this was confusion was caused on the American side but eventually the Germans ran out of supplies and had to fall back. -
VE Day
VE Day is when Germany surrendered. They surrenedered because Germany lost and they ran out of fuel. The aftermath of VE Day was victory in Europe and Hitler commits suicide. -
VJ Day
VJ Day is when Japan surrendered unconditionally to the allies effectively ending War World 2. Japan surrendered because the U.S. was dropping atomic bombs on civilians and killing thousands of Japanese people. Soo after the 2nd atomic bombing Japan surrendered. The after math of VJ Day was War World 2 ending.
