The Man who shot him was located in a near by office building. Kennedy was first shot went through his arm, up his shoulder, and then into his neck. The shot the killed him though, was straight to the head.

The Beatles, a very famous band, came to America for the very first time on Febuary 17, 1964. Girls went wild and passed out at the concerts all the while their parents freaked out because among other things The Beatles had long hair.

Racial tentions ran high during the height of the civil rights movement. Rioting broke out in many major American cities during this period and Detroit being one of the worst. City officials thought shutting off the electricty would make the situation better but it back fired in a big way. People started fires, broke in to building, and stole countless things. Thousands of people were arrested, hundreds injured along, and a total of 43 deaths over the course of 4 days.

The series featured two of the most famous pitchers in baseball history, Bob Gibson for the Cardnials and Denny McClain for the Tigers.

First man on the Moon broadcast On July 20, 1969 Americans stayed up late to watch the first human being to walk on the Moon. Astronaut Neil Armstrong was the first person to do so. His fellow astronaut Buzz Aldren was the second. Neil said "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." and then they stuck an American flag into the Moon's surface.

Munich massacre news report The Munich massacre happened on September 5, 1972. The whole Israeli Olympic team was kidnapped and murdered by the by the Palestinian group, Black September. The next day the 11 members of the team and a German police officer were found dead.

Richard Nixon's resignation speech On August 8, 1974, Richard Nixon, the 37 president of the United States, resigned from office. His vice president, Gerald Ford, was sworn in immeditely afterwards. The Watergate scandle was the thing that pushed Nixon over the edge and made him resign. The scandle occurred when Richard Nixon's staff burgaled the offices of Nixon's political opponents, and Nixon helped them lie about it to authorities.

The Three Mile Island accident happened on March, 23, 1979. Three Mile Island was a nuclear power plant located in Dauphin County, PA. One of the neclear reacters had a near meltdown, realeasing substantial amounts of radioactivity into the environment. The crisis caused a debate about the future of neclear power in America and also made officails realize that neclear power plants need to be under a more watchful eye.

On November 4, 1979 terrorists stormed the American embassy in Tehran, Iran. The terrorists took embassy employes hostage and held them capitave for 443 days until government officials negotiated their release. The movie Argo tells part of this story.
