After a long, tough journey in third class, Sean arrives in New York. He takes a job at a bar for low pay.

While on his way home from the bar, Sean is attacked. He fights off the would-be mugger and brings him to the police station

Sean finally has enough money to move. He lives with his cousin in Boston, and meets the girl of his dreams while working at the factory.

Begins work at factory, and asks the girl out. The factory work is hard, with low pay and bad conditions.

After six months in the factory, has enough money to travel to Oklahoma on the teain. Sean must sell the only possesion he had from Ireland, his father's gold ring. Cousin, Girlfriend, and Sean join a wagon train heading for Oregon from Oklahoma, after hearing of the plentiful land.

While traveling through Oklahoma, the wagon train is attacked. Sean defends the train, but get shot in the shoulder by an arrow. cousin catches smallpox

Cousin finally succumbs to smallpox, leave Sean and Girlfriend on their own in the West.

After finding the perfect land to set up his dream mill, Sean races for it. He barely gets the land, and it is theirs. He also proposes to his now Fiancee.
