Raman was an Indian scientist who won the 1930 Nobel Prize for physics, and he made important discoveries about how light travels. Marie Goeppert won the 1963 Nobel Prize for physics and helped developed a new model of the nucleus of the atom. Ada Yonath was a co-winner of the 2009 Nobel Prize in chemistry.
