The second of three children, born to Harrison lll, a former NFL pospect turned lawayer, and Tammy, a legal nurse consultant. He pefected his skills with his older brother, Harry.

Russell began playing football at the age of four with his brother who was a reciever.

Russell's strong arm earned him the starting job for the Collegiate School as a sophomore. He lead the team to the 2004 championship and recieved All State honors.
