His name is Charlie and lives in richmond. He lives with his mum and his brother Jack, who had Spanish Flu. Charlie's Dad has died when he was very young. Charlie feels that he is the leader of the family and tries to earn money. -

After Charlie's Dad died, they were very poor. They had bath only once every week. They didn't have much money so they were usually cold. -
Squizzy Tailor
Charlie was poor so he wanted to earn money. He went to Squizzy Tailor and started to do him some bad assignments like buying him some whiskeys from some dangerous people, stealing eggs ect. Charlie's mum told Charlie to not go to earn money by Squizzy but Charlie ignored mum and went to him. -
MUM
Charlie's mum shouted to Charlie to not ever go to Squizzy Tailor because he is a devil, the most gangster. Charlie ignored and still went to Squizzy Tailor -
Boxing
Charlie thought he had to look himeself and learns boxing with his neighbour Cecil Redmond and gets ready for the ballarat mile race. -

Avoiding Barlow became hard when he was doing Squizzy Tailor's appointment. -

He practised this competition, practicing boxing. He became 3rd and went to the grand finals. He was really happy that his practice made him 3rd -
Ballarat mile race Grand Finals
He ran without shoes and ran as fast as he could. He sprinted at last and scored first! He was so happy. He ran to Mr. Redemond and thanked him. -
Back home
He went back home really happy after the Ballarat Mile Race and they celebrate that Charlie had won the competition
