Rory was born in Holywood, Northern Ireland on May, 4th, 1989 to Rosie and Gerry McIlroy. -
Youngest Member
Even at such a young age, Rory showed so much potential. In fact, his dad had a gold club in his hand before he could walk. Rory became the youngest member of the Holywood Golf Club. -
First Win
Rory's first success came with a trip to Miami. All of Rory's hard work as a young kid paid off with a win at the Age 9-10 World Championships. -
First Hole in One
At only 10 years old, Rory sank a hole in one at his home golf course, Holywood Golf Club. -
Go Pro
In 2007, Rory McIlroy turned professional and graduated to the European Tour. -
First Pro Win
Rory's first European Tour win came at the Dubai Desert Classic. This bumped him up to No. 16 in the rankings after only being pro for 18 months. -
PGA
Rory's first PGA win was at the Quail Hallow Championship. He shot 15 under par to secure the win and at only 21 years old! -
The Open
Just a year later, Rory wins the US Open at Congressional, claiming his first major. Not only did he win at just 22 but he also hit the lowest aggregate score in US Open history. -
PGA at Kiawah
Rory wins the PGA Championship at Kiawah Island, making him the youngest to win multiple majors since the great Steve Ballesteros. -
"Miracle of Medinah"
The Ryder Cup of 2012; Europe defeated the US by one point, 14.5 to 13.5. One of the most exciting to date, this tournament was down to the wire until the very end. -
BMW PGA
During his rounds leading to the win at the BMW PGA Championship, Rory had four eagles, a tie for the most in any 2014 European Tour event. -
Number 3
At the Open Championship, Rory won his third major title. He lead the tournament from start to finish. -
Two in a Row
Rory wins his fourth major at the US PGA Championship at Valhalla.
This was his second win in a row. -
Home Again
Back at home, Rory wins the Irish Open. This is something that meant a lot to him with all of his family and friends close by. -
Playoff Payoff
After a four hole playoff with Ryan Moore, Rory sinks a 15-foot putt for the win at the Tour Championship and FedEx Cup. -
Now
Just last month, Rory won the Arnold Palmer Invitational. This was his first win after a pretty extensive dry spell last year.
