    The Magna Carta was a document that limited the power of the monarch. It gave guarentees to the people that they would get trial by jury and due process.

    The Mayflower compact was signed by the members of the Mayflower to pledge their allegiance to their country and King. They also pledged their obediance to laws that would be put in place after they landed and formed a colony.
  • Petition of Right Signed

    This document prohibited the King from infringing on certain liberties. Those liberties were: martial law can't be declared during peace, taxes can only be levied by parliament, and prisoners have to go against their detentions.
