    The Chinese create the first rockets. They are used against the Mongolians during the defense of China
  • First Multi-Staged Rocket

    A German firework maker, named Johann Schmidlap, invents a two stage rocket used so his fireworks can reach a greater height. It consists of one rocket carrying another that launch at different times, gaining a higher altitude
  • Newton's Laws of motion published

    Sir Isaac Newton's book, Principia, is released containing the three laws of motion he created, laying the foundation for modern rocketry

    Rocket Revival

    The Indian usage of the rocket to fight against the British catches the attention of one of the British army leaders. Colonel William Congreve suggests to the Government to start researching into the usage of rockets in the military.

    Jet vents are designed at an angle making the rocket spin similarly to a bullet, making the rocket more stable
  • Successful liquid-propellant rockey

    An American Scientist, Robert H Goddard, flies a rocket powered by liquid oxygen and gasoline. Goddard continues his research and creates bigger and better rockets

    The German Engineer, Wherner Von Braun develops the ballistic missile during World War 2. These rockets are the first type of rocket capable of going to space
  • First Atmospheric Testing

    Using the captured German scientists, the United States is able to start constructing their own V-2 Rockets.They use them to measure the atmosphere
