    Sir Issac Newton

Newton started to design and replicate rockets in a jet shape using gun powder for fuel.
  • Hermann Oberth

    Hermann Oberth

Hermann wrote a book that discussed rocket travel which triggered the V-2 Rocket. This rocket was for war and was run on by alcohol fuel by a small jet engine
  • Dr. Robert Goddard

    Dr. Robert Goddard

It was thought of in 1912 by Dr. Robert Goddard. He ended up building on on May 1st, 1926. It was fueled by some type of liquid fuel.
  • Soviet Union

    Soviet Union

They made the 1st satellite to go to space called Sputnik. It ran on LOX/RP-1 Fuel, which is rocket fuel.
  • Soviet Union once again

    Soviet Union once again

This time they made a bigger satellite that fit a dog into it. The dogs name was Laika and the dog lasted 7 days in space till it ran out of oxygen and died. The satellite ran on LOX/RP-1 fuel (rocket fuel) and had the same motor as the original "Sputnik."
  • US

    US

The US made a satellite shortly after that was launch by the US Army. It ran on LOX/RP-1 fuel, which is rocket fuel.
  • Challenger

    Challenger

Challenger was a rocket made by many scientists at NASA and it was powered by NTO/MMH fuel (which is also rocket fuel, just favored by America). This rocket did however blow up on January 28th, 1986, with all of its astronauts on the rocket.
  • Discovery

    Discovery

Discovery was the rocket that NASA made after Columbia, Challenger, and Enterprise. This rocket was made to make up for all the mistakes that were made on the other rockets. This rocket ran on Lox/LH2 fuel.
  • Lockheed Martin

    Lockheed Martin

He was the prime contractor that NASA brought in to make Orion a rocket that would take astronauts from ship to planet. It ran on NTO/MMH fuel.
