On the day of August 18, 1934, in San Anton, a small town in Carolina, Puerto Rico, Roberto Walker Clemente was born. Melchor and Luisa had four kids (Anaris, Osvaldo, Justino, and Andres), although they wanted a fifth for more help with their work.

The specific date is unknown, but when Roberto was just a baby, his sister, Anaris Clemente, passed away. She was baking in the house, and flames went off catching onto her clothes. She suffered 3rd degree burns on more than 95% of her skin, causing her death.

Roberto wanted a bicycle since he was only three years old. So, when he was nine years of age, he decided he would save all of his pennies to have his wish granted. He saved up for three years and got his bicycle when he was twelve years old, which he had wanted forever.

At the age of twelve, with the fear of fire, Roberto over came that fear when he saved the life of an old man. He saw this car crashed on the side of the road on fire, and he knew the guy was suffering. He went over and pulled the guy out of the car that was on fire. He now knows he saved a life.

On August 14 in the year of 1952, Roberto joined a high-school team which was coached by Robert Marin. This coach presented Clemente to teams from all over the world, including professional teams in America. Eventually, Roberto got scouted from professional teams because of the actions from Marin.

The specific date is unknown, but in the month of November of the year 1954, in New Jersey, Clemente decided to enter the MLB draft. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates because of his talent level. This team is that which he spent his whole career with.

Clemente won several awards in his professional career. Although, his best season was in 1961, which was when he won his first Gold Glove award and his first batting title. With the batting title, he was the most effective batter in the MLB that season. He then went on to win 12 consecutive Gold Glove awards.

On the date of November 14, 1964, Roberto Clemente married Vera Clemente. Roberto found a secret love in Vera which he wanted to live the rest of his life with. They went on to have three kids, which names were Robert Jr., Enrique, and Luis Clemente.

In the 1966 MLB season, Roberto Clemente performed very well. His performance in this season was the result of a National League Most Valuable Player award. This award is given to the player that has the most talent and who works the hardest at the sport, which Clemente was.

On October 17, in the 1971 season, the Pittsburgh Pirates won the World Series. This occurred in Three Rivers Stadium which is where the Pirates played throughout the season. This team worked hard and together to pull out the win in the biggest World Series, Game 7 in Pirates history.

September 29, 1972 was the most memorable day of Roberto Clemente's life. He stepped up to the plate, in which was his last at-bat of his career, and hit a double of Jon Matlack. This double was his 3,000 hit of his professional baseball career. This milestone has only been reached by 28 people in the history of baseball.

On December 31, 1972, Clemente boarded a plane which was taking goods to Nicaragua because of a natural disaster. This plane took off, and didn't even go a mile and the plane crashed into the Caribbean. The people that boarded this plane unfortunately passed away, which was never forgotten.

The exact date is unknown, but in the year of 1973, a decision was made by the officials of the MLB, to induct Clemente into the Hall of Fame. He was inducted on a vote into the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. Clemente reached the Hall of Fame because of a successful career, and breaking records.
