    During 1960 Roberto Clemente helped lead his team to the World Series. The Pirates ended up beating the New york Yankees. Despite Robertos great play he finished 8th in the NL MVP voting. Roberto was not too happy with the results.

With the batting title, he was the most effective batter in the MLB that season. He then went on to win 12 consecutive Gold Glove awards.

    On November 14, 1964, Roberto Clemente married Vera Clemente. Roberto found a special thing in Vera which he wanted to live the rest of his life with. They went on to have three kids, which names were Robert Jr., Enrique, and Luis Clemente.

This was also the last time he ever stepped up to the plate to hit. Acheiving this milestone was important because it has only been acheived 28 times in the history of MLB.

    Died on December 31, 1972 in San Juan Puerto Rico. He was 38 years old when he died. He died while trying to take supplies to Puerto Rico for the people because there poor. The plane had to much luggage and it made the plane crash. Everyone that was on that plane passed away.

    In 1973, a decision was made by the officials of the MLB, to induct Clemente into the Hall of Fame. He was inducted on a vote into the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. Clemente reached the Hall of Fame because of a successful career, and his skills and talents

    On Roberto Clemente's birthday his number was retired. His number was retired throughout the league. Also in the pirates stadium today they built a wall 21 feet in right field were he played. This event occurred because of Clemente's influential life, his impact on the sport of baseball, and his skill level, and his drive to be good.
