On this day, the quarterback of the Washington Redskins was born in Okinawa, Japan. His parents are Robert Jr. and Jacqueline. They were both sergeants in the U.S. Army. -
RG3's Junior Year in Highschool
Copperas Cove High School, where he was a three-sport star in basketball, football, and track for the Bulldawgs. He started at quarterback for two seasons. During his junior season, he passed for 2,001 yards and 25 touchdowns with two interceptions, while compiling 876 rushing yards for 8 touchdowns. He received first-team All-District 16-4A honors after the season. -
RG3's Senior Yearv in Highschool
As a senior he recorded 1,285 rushing yards, posting 24 touchdowns, and passed for 1,356 yards for 16 touchdowns with seven interceptions. In his senior season Copperas Cove finished with a record of 13–2, but lost in the championship game of the 2007 Class 4A Division I state playoffs. Over the two seasons, he rushed for a total of 2,161 yards and 32 touchdowns while passing for 3,357 yards and 41 touchdowns with nine interceptions -
Freshmen year at Baylor
In his freshmen year as QB at Baylor RG3 had a decent year. He has 15 passing TD's, 2091 yards, and only 3 interceptions. He also had 846 rushing yards. -
College Recruitment
Rivals.com, a college football recruiting service, ranked Griffin the fourth-best dual-threat quarterback in the nation and the 42nd-best player in Texas in the high school prospect class of 2008. During the college recruiting period Griffin was pursued by Stanford, Tennessee, Kansas, Nebraska, Houston, Tulsa, Illinois, Washington State, and Oregon. Griffin initially committed to play for Houston under head coach Art Briles. When Briles left Houston to take the head coaching position at Baylor. -
Sophmore year at Baylor
As a sophmore in college RG3 had a less impressive season. He only had 4 touchdowns and threw for 481 yards. Had 77 rushing yards, only a fractions of the total from the previous year. -
Junior year at Baylor
As a junior RG3 really stepped up his game. he had 22 touchdowns and threw for 3501 yards. He had 635 rushing yards and 8 interceptions. -
RG3 wins the Heisman
Robert Griffin III beat out preseason favorite Andrew Luck from Stanford on Saturday night, becoming the first Baylor player to take home college football's most famous trophy. -
Senior year at Baylor
As a senior Rg3 had a terrific season to end his Baylor career. he threw 291 completions for 4293 yards. Also he threw 35 touchdowns and had 6 interceptions. His completed pass percent was 72.4%. -
Drafted to the NFL
To get Griffin, Washington dealt a second-round pick this year and its first-rounders in 2013 and '14 to St. Louis to move up four spots. He was chose after Andrew Lyuck who was drafted number 1 by the colts.
