The Palmer Raids gained its name because on June 2, anarchoist Carlo Valdinoci blew the doors off Attorney General Mitchell Palmer's home in D.C. This was the first attack of many that happened that day.

New Year's Day 6000+ people were arrested. Sacco and Vanzetti were arrested and later killed for acts they did not commit. America was afraid of anarchist at the time, so the judicial system turned a blind eye to these type of things.

The great migratoin was the movement of nearly 6 million southern blacks traveled North to start a new life. After the civil war ended the rural south slowly adopted Jim Crow Laws and share cropping both which left blacks in a rough enviroment to live.
