THE MAGNA CARTA
In 1166 to 1216 king John of England was forced to sign the magna carta. The magna carta allowed the people to make sure the king didnt take their property, people cannot be tax unless the council of men agreed, people could not put trial without witnesses and they can only be punished by jury from peers. -

The Bill of Rights was a restatement in Statutory form od the Declaration of rights presented by the convention parliment to William and Mary in March 1689 inviting them to to become joint sovereigns of England. -

The albany plan of union is a plan to place the British North American colonies under a more centralized government. the plan was adopted on July 10, 1754 by representitives from seven of the British North American colonies. although never carried out, it was the first important plan to conceive the colonies as a collective whole united under one government. -

The french and Indian War was a battle between the colonies of British america and new France, The major people in the war was Edward Braddock, george Washington and James Wolfe, On the surface the British won onbulk more than skill, the French and indians had more clever strategies even though the British outnumbered them.Some of the battles include the battle of Quebec, the battle of lake George, battle of Loisburg. the sons of liberty was the group that organized this event. the british responded by shutting down the boston harbor also creating the intoerable acts in the event of these two things the MA goverment failed. -
Stamp Act
The Stamp Act was passed in 1775, and required all people to pay taxes for all pieces of paper that was printed. Some of the items that were passed were lisences, legal documents, a ship's papers, and playing cards. The colonists reacted by boycotting it. But sometimes the would compromise by giving the buyer a stamp without paying the tax, then the buyer would pay the person to stamp it. -

Intolerable acts
The british passed these acts because they were upset about the Boston tea party. The british closed all of Boston's ports until the colonist's payed for the tea they destroyed, they restricted colonists to have government/committees/town meetings, they allowed themselves to house troops, whenever, whereever, in the colonist's homes, they let british accused stand in trial in britian, instead of the colonies, and make Tomas Gage be the governor of the colonies. -

the result was that two hundred seventy four british troops died and only nintey four colonist die and the revolutinary war began. the british general was colonial francis smith and for the colonist there were two generals they were john parker (lexington) and james barret of (concord). paul revere was to only warn concord that the british were coming -

the second contiental congress took place in philadelphia. one of the ideas were independence. the colonial leaders were george washigton and benjerman franklin. -
