    The magna carta was a document that was signed by king john in june of 1215 in england the document gave the kings subjects the right to own and inherit property, be protected from excessive taxes and to be free fro government interference when involving the church. King John was forced to sighn the magna carta after his subjects rebelled.

    The mayflower compact was created in order to prevent dissent from puritans and non-separatist pilgrims who had arrived at plymouth a few days earlier. The document was signed by all of the adut males that were abord the ship before they could go ashore.

    The rights were that no freemanshould be forced to pay any tax, no freeman should be imprisoned, the soldiers and sailors shouldn;t be billeted on private people, and commisions to punish soldiers and sailors by martial law should be abolished.Charles I signed the document.

    The Albany Plan was created by Benjamin Franklin. It was created in the hopes that the colonies united would be able to create a better defence and goverence. This plan ended up never happening because it was voed down in every place it was presented. The join or die created by Benjamin Frankiln is a famous political cartoon that is associated with this event.

    The French and indian war was i fight between Austria, England France, Prussia and sweden but the main people in this conflict were England and France. some major battles were the battle of quebec, battle of fort oswego,and battle of fort ducquense. ultimately England won the war causing the french to lose all of there land in North America. This made the relationship between England and the colonies stronger because now they know england can provide protection and help the colonies.

  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    The Boston Massacre was a killing of unarmed citzens a total five were dead and may were injured when the british fired upon the citizens after the citizens tried to rebel. The citizens wee rebelling against the townshed act which aloud the goverment to collect revenue on imported glass, lead, paints, paper and tea. The citizens viewed the soldiers more as threats rather than order keepers which was also a factor in the rebellion.

    The Republican party organized the event of the mass dumping of tea known as the Boston Tea Party. The citizens dumped the tea off of the British ships because of the hig taxes that the british are putting on items including tea. This shows the British that they can't control the colonies anymore that they are going to have a say in what happens in there country. After this mass dumping the british created the intolorable act which closed all of the ports in british.

    Some of the major people that are involved with this event are John Adams, Samuel Adams, George Washington, and Patrick Henery. The results of this are colonial malitias start forming and came up with the term no taxation without representation. this meeting took place in philidelphia, pennsylvania.
  • intolerable acts

    What caused the British to pass these acts is that King George III ordered 3 shiploads of tea and had it dumped in Boston. Colonists didnt want tax on tea so they dumped it, they believed that they should be punished by inforcing intolerable acts. The four provisions were the Boston Port Bill, Administration of Justice Act,Quartering Act, and Quebec Act.
  • Lexington and Concord

    The result was that it started the American Revolutionary war. The generals were Major John Pitcairn, Lieutenant Colonel Francis Smith, and General Thomas Gage. Paul Revere sounded the alarm for colonial militiamen to begin intercepting the Red Coat column.

    It took place in Philidelphia in the State Houuse. The meeting established the militia as the continental army to represent the 13 states. They also elected George Washington as commander in chief of the continental army.
