    The French and Indian War
    The French and Indian War, also known as the 7 year war, was part of a larger North America conflict between the French and Great Britain. The war provided territorial gains in North America to Great Britain. Paying the wars expenses led to colonial expenses and overtime the American Revolution.
  • End of the French and Indian War

    End of the French and Indian War
    French and Indian War ended in 1763 which made the war 7 year long. The war provided territorial gains in North America to Great Britain. The colonists had to pay expenses during and after the war leading to the Revolutionary War.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    Proclamation of 1763 was at the end of the French and Indian war. It was one of the cornerstones of the Native American's laws in the United States and Canada. This did not allow settlers to settle west of the Appalachian Mountains. This lead to the American Revolution settlers thought that they should be able to live wherever they wanted.

    The Stamp act was a law passed by the British making American Colonist pay taxes on every paper they used. This was offensive to the colonist because they never had to raise money through taxes before they used taxes to regulate commerce. Because of these taxes it led the American Colonist toward the American Revolution.

    The Townshend Acts imposed a series of taxes on all goods imported to the United States. Colonists did not want these taxes and where resisting against the tea tax which lead to the American Revolution.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    The Boston Massacre was the day that 5 colonists were killed by British regulars. It was a fight between the British and Colonists. It can be described as a spark that ignited the Revolutionary War.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act
    The Tea Act did not want to raise revenue for the colonies but send tea to the colonies to sell at a bargain price. When the colonist saw the tea they demanded that it be returned to England. They refused to return it home and this helped to lead up to the American Revolution.
  • Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea PartyThe Boston Tea Party was a political protest by the Sons of Liberty in Boston. They Boarded 3 ships in Boston Harbor and threw 342 chests of tea overboard. This made the British and Colonist closer to war.
  • Intolerable Acts

    Intolerable Acts
    The Intolerable Acts where laws set to punish the Massechusetts Colonists after their defiance in the Boston Tea Party. They were trying to bring the colonist back into submission of the king.
  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    The Battle of Lexington and Concord kicked off the American Revolutionary War. British Soldiers marched from Boston to Concord on the night of April 18. The colonists sounded the alarm and a confrontation on Lexington town green started the fighting.

    The Declaration of Independence is a symbol of liberty. It seperated the original 13 colonies from Great Britain. The Declaration of Independence shows the United States independence. Every Fourth of July people in the United States celebrate the independence and freedoms they have because of the American Revolution.
