    Pontiac's Rebellion

    Because the war was over the British settlers started moving over to the French land (West)where the Native Americans lived.The Native Americans were dissatisfied with the Britsh control so they started a rebellion.The Rebellion was led by an Ottawan leader, Pontiac.Pontiac united other tribes to join the rebellion.The Native Americans attack the frontier forts.The Native Americans would trick the English to gain access to forts, & then capture or kill inhabitants.This was a diplomatic solution
  • Proclamation of 1763

    The British Parliment announces that no settlement can take place west of the Appalachian Mountains. But this did not stop the settlers from settling west so the rebellion continued for 3 years. (1763-1766)
  • Sugar Act

    Tax on importing sugar (molasses), wine & coffee. The molasses already had a tax (started in 1733). Sugar tax was half the molasses tax but the colonist refused to pay (Molasses tax= 6// Sugar tax=3) The parliament passes this because it wants to have a complete Monopoly over the trade. This causes corruption to increase.The Sugar Act allowed royal officials to seize colonial cargo with little/no legal cause.
  • Stamp Act

    The first direct tax. All legal documents, newspaper, pamphlets, playing cards, dice, and all other printed material. This affected the rich and educated people.
  • Quartering Act

    To have protection from the Redcoats the colonists needed to provide shelter, bedding, food, beer, sider and rum.
  • Virginia Resolves

    The Virginia House of Burgesses passed the Virginia Resolves, which denied Parliament’s right to tax the colonies under the Stamp Act.
  • Stamp Act Congress in New York City

    The congress sent a letter to the government petitioning the tax. Meeting inspired a number of protests, refusal to pay taxes and even attacks on tax collectors. This was important because this was a major step in uniting the colonies against Britain. 9 delegates agreed to stop taxing coming from Britain. OUTCOME: Economy dropped because of America Boycotting British Products
  • Declaratory Act

    The Declaratory Act stated that the British Parliment had the right to rule and tax the colonies.
  • Repeal of the Stamp Act

    With many protests in America made by the educated people, the British Parliament repeals the Stamp Act, But the same day the British Parliment passed the Declaratory Act

    Led, paint, tea, glass, wine were taxed because the British Empire needed money.
  • Boston Massacre

    A group of Boston younf people and dockworkers began insulting and throwing snowballs at the British Redcoats on duty, creating a "confusion" and because of the "confusion" it is called a massacre. 5 people died shot by the redcoats.
