    The Royal Proclamation of 1763 was issued by King George III on October 7, 1763 following Great Britain's acquisition of French territory in North America after the 7 year war. It forbade all settlement west of the line drawn along the Appalachian Mountains which was an Indian reserve.

    The Boston Massacre was a deadly riot that occurred on March 5, 1770 on King Street in Boston. British Soldiers opened fire on a group of colonists harassing and taunting the British Army. Five men died when the British Soldiers fired their guns.

    The Tea Act was an act of parliament to reduce the amount of tea held by warehouses. The Tea Act was British Law that was designed to reduce and expand the company's monopoly on the tea trade to all British Colonies, selling excess tea at a reduced price.

    The Intolerable Acts were punitive laws passed by the British Parliament in 1774 after the Boston Tea Party. The laws were meant to punish the Massachusetts colonists for their defiance in the Tea Party protest in reaction to changes in taxation by the British Government.

    The First Continental Congress was a meeting of delegates from 12 of the 13 British colonies that became the United States. Delegates from each of the colonies (except Georgia) met in Philadelphia as the First Continental Congress to organize colonial resistance to Parliament's Coercive Acts.
