  • Proclamation

    This proclamation did not allow colonists to settle west of the appalachian Mountians. The British government feared the conflicts and Native Americans would lead to another war. they also could not afford to pay British troops to defend the western lands. Colonists were enraged by this proclamtion because they felt they had won the right to settle in the Ohio River Valley after winning the French and Indian war.

  • Quaterring Act

    Parliament passedf the Quaterring Act. This was a cost-saving measure that required the colonies to quater, or house,british soldier and provide them with supples.
  • Stamp Act

    This law required all legal and commercial documents to carry an official stamp showing that law had paid. All diplomas,contracts, and wills had carry a stamp. Even published materials such as newpapers had o be written on special stamped paper.
  • Townshend Act

    The king's finance minister, Chales Townshend, told parliament that he had way to raise revenue in the colonies. So 1767, parliament passed his plan, known as the Townshend Acts. The first of the Townshend Acts suspened New York's aseemmbly until New Yorkers agreed to housing for he troops. The other acts placed duties, or import taxes, on various goods brought into the colonies, such as glass, paper, paint, lead and tea.
  • Introlerable Act

    Parliment passed a series of laws o punish the Massachusetts colony and to serve as a warning to other colonies. the britsh called these laws he colony and to serve as a warning to other colonies. the british called hese laws the Coercive Acts, but they were so harsh that the colonists.
  • Battle of Lexington and Concord

    the first battles of the Revolutionary War. Americans would now have to choose sides and back up their force of arms. Those sided with the rebels were Patriots. The conflict between the two sides divied communites, familes, and friends. The wars was on!!!!!!!!
  • Tea Act & Boston Tea Party

    Parliament opened up old wounds when it passed the Tea Act. Tea Tea was veryt popular in the colonies, but much of it wassumggled in from Holland. The Tea Act gave the British East India Company controls over the American tea act.Then Prostest against the Tea Act took place all over the coloniens. In Charleston, South Caroline, colonists unloaded tea and let it rot on the dock. In New York City and Philadelphia, colonists block ea ships from landing. The Sons Liberty throw tea over boared.
  • Olive Branch Petition

    This document asked the king to restore harmony between Britian and the colonies. Some members oppesed the petition but signed it anyway as a last hope.
  • Declaration of Independence

    The Document written in 1776, in which the colonies declared Indeclared indendence from Britain.
