    In order to vote, you had to be a an adult male who own property and you had to be a member of the church. Later on the puritans government slowly loosened up.

    The pilgrims settled in Plymouth, Massachusetts. They moved mainly for religious freedom, they were very tolerant people, and also were the first ones to start thanksgiving.

    The puritans were sort of the opposite of the pilgrims. Yes, they also came for religious freedom but, they settled in Massachusetts Bay, and they were NOT tolerant. Things were very strict and you would be kicked out if you stood against them.

    Roger Williams got banished from Massachusetts Bay. He believed in separation church and state, after he was banished he founded Rhode Island. He decided to make Rhode Island a place of religious freedom.
