The Treaty of Versailles
The Treaty of Versailles was signed by Germany and the Allied powers on June 28th, 1919. This was a treaty formally ending WWI. The terms of the treaty were: Germany pay all financial reparations, lose territory, disarm, and give up all of their overseas colonies. -
Mussolini: First Facist Leader of Italy
Benito Mussolini rose to power by promoting nationalist, pro-war agenda. In 1919, he formed what is called the Facist Party. By 1922, he was appointed Prime Minister and eventually established dictatorship on January 23rd. -
Mein Kampf is Published
The Mein Kampf is a book written by Adolf Hitler published on July 18th, 1925. The book outlines Hitler's ideology and plans for the future Germany. He includes his views on Lebemsraum, nationalism, race, etc. -
Hitler: Chancellor of Germany
Hitler was appointed Chancellor of Germany by Paul von Hindenburg on January 30th, 1933. Hidenburg was pressured to appoint him as Chancellor due to the success and popularity of the Nazi Party. Once Hitler became Chancellor, he began to show signs of Dictatorship. -

The Night of the Long Knives was a purge where Hitler ordered his political rivals to be assassinated. This solidified hitlers control and got rid of his political threats. -

Japan invaded China on July 7th, 1937. Japan was seeking more resources and land. They also had a goal to dominate Asia. The invasion boosted Japan's resources and influence, making them a big regional power in Asia. -

The Japanese rape of Nanjing happened on December 13th, 1937. This was part of Japan's aggresive expansion during a Japanese war. They did this to show their power and control. They weakened China's resistance and asserted their dominance. -

The Pact of Steel was signed by Germany and Italy on May 10th, 1939. It was an alliance for the two countries for WWII. This alliance boosted both Italy and Germany's military and increased their power and influence in Europe. -

The Tripartite Pact was signed on September 27th, 1940. This pact was an agreement between Germany, Italy, and Japan. It formed the Axis of Powers during WWII. It's main goal was to make a defense alliance against the allied powers.
