  • SOLD!!!

    SOLD!!!
Pierpoint finally got to land 2 months later and was washed up to look presentable and was sold in an auction. He learned a new launguage, strange customs and was a slave to a British officer. He also dropped out of sight for 20 years! I chose this picture because it shows slaves being sold in an auction in the oldern days and Pierpoint was also sold in an auction.
  • Pierpoint Captured and Taken Away

     Pierpoint Captured and Taken Away
When Richard Pierpoint was 16, he was captured and his hands bound behind his back, roped by the neck to other men, women and children, he was marched to the broad Gambia River and boated downstream to James Fort, an Island fortress near the ocean, and sold to Europeans. He had to live in the boat tied to other men with a neck ring and was barly given food, but still survived. I chose this image because this image shows what Pierpoint might of looked like since he was taken away from his home.
  • The American Revolutionary War

    The American Revolutionary War
In the 20 years Richard Pierpoint was gone, he fought the Americains with Butlers Rangers. Then in July 1784, a year after the war ended, he left the army (36 now) and disappeared for another 4 years. I chose this picture because it shows how terrible the Americain Revolution was, and Pierpoint fought in it along with Butlers Rangers.
  • Getting Land

    Getting Land
In 1788, Pierpoint was granted a 200-acre parcel of land and cleared it-as a condition of the grant-. In January 1791, los 13 and 14 concession 6 became his and later sold them. I chose this picyure because it shows a old farmland that pierpoint might have had long ago.
  • The War of 1812

    The War of 1812
At the age of 68, (war of 1812 started) Pierpoint offered to "raise a corpse of men of colour on the Niagara frontier" and later, got accepted. The British said no but Runchey agreeded but said that Pierpoint can't lead. I chose this picture because the stars show where all of the important battles took place in the war of 1812.
  • The War of 1812 is Done

The War of 1812 is Done
The war of 1812 is done and the peace terms are negotiated. Richard Pierpoint went back to scratching a living as a lobourer and slipped out of sight for another 6 years. I chose this picture because it shows people doing farm labour which Pierpoint did in his life.
  • "Location Ticket"

    "Location Ticket"
At 77, he lived on Niagara on the lake and requested a ticket back home and got a "location ticket" for a parcel of unbroken wilderness. He got the usual conditions-clear the land, build a house. I chose this picture because it shows some "unbroken wilderness" and a little home fit for one person.
  • Pierpoints Death

    Pierpoints Death
Richard built a cabin by 1825 behind Zacks yard. He died at the age of 92 (1836) and sometime before, buried the old box Zack found with his belongings. I chose this picture because it looks like a old box that Pierpoint might of buried and Zack found.
