    The French had revolted because they wanted to be equal. There were three estates and they were very unfair. The third estate wanted to not pay as high of taxes. They were treated so unfair so they decided to try to hold the king and queen captive. The government responded with the royal couple trying to escape but eventually being killed.
  • India

    India
    The people of India revolted because they didn't like Ghandi. Eventually Ghandi was put in jail by the government. Ghandi was a ruler who urged non-violence and civil disobedience. He displayed public acts of defiance that landed him in jail several times.
  • Egypt

    Egypt
    The people of Egypt wanted to overthrow the KING FAROUK I. The Egyptian monarchy was very corrupt and pro-british. Riots broke out. The government responded with getting a new leader.
  • Cuba

    160 young militants attacked the Moncada barracks in Santiago. Half of them died, most after torture. They attacked because they were against Spanish colonism. The governament responded with fighting back and then they ended up killing many militants.
  • Iran

    The Shah left in Iran so the people got angry. That is what caused them to revolt. The government responded with getting a new president. People went into the streets and then they protested.
  • Nicaragua

    Nicaragua
    The country suffered under the biggest foreign debt per capita in Latin America. The people were planning the assassination of Pedro Joaquín Chamorro.
  • South Korea

    South Korea
    The people of South Korea wanted to revolt because it was ruled by military dictatorship. They went on strike because they wanted wage increases. The government responded with fighting right back with them. They everntually gave in and gave them higher wages.
  • Lebanon

    Lebanon
    "Syria kept persecuting the Lebanese leaders who resisted its occupation of Lebanon.Exiled Premier General Michel Aoun is threatened to be arrested if he tries to return to Lebanon, while the leader of the Lebanese Forces ex-militia Samir Gaegae is imprisoned in Lebanon since 1994."
    The Lebandese had rallies to support the freedom of their occupied motherland. The government had decided to send troops but ended up withdrawling them.
