    French & Indian War

    France and Great Britain, was involved in the war that took 9 years to determine who controlled the vast colonial territory of North America. They also were fighting to maintain control of their land and their cultural future.
  • the Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act was required to pay the colonists. The British government without the approval of the colonial was payable in hard to obtain British sterling, like the various forms of papers, documents, and playing cards.
  • Boston Massacre

    In late March 5, 1770, British sentries guarding the Boston shot into a crowd of civilians,to where they killed three men and injured eight, two of them mortally.
  • Declaration of Independence

    When they issued the Declaration of Independence, on july 4 1776. they discovered. The Declaration summarized the colonists' motivations for seeking independence.
  • The Battles of Trenton and Princeton

    The battles occurred over a span of nine days, but they started on December 26, 1776 through January 3, 1777. After crossing the Delaware River in a treacherous storm, General George Washington's army defeated a garrison of Hessian mercenaries at Trenton. They wanted to do all this to rescue the Patriot cause from one of its darkest hours.

    On September 18, 1777, General Wilhelm von Knyphausen led British soldiers. The Continental Army struggled to manage a disastrous supply crisis while retraining. So The park commemorates the sacrifices and perseverance of the Revolutionary War generation.
