  • 1776 BCE

    Trenton

    Washington took 2,400 men across the Delaware river to defeat garrison of Hessians. Then the British finally reunited but were then captured in Philadelphia.
  • Lexington

    Paul Revere, WIlliam Dawes and Samuel Prescott took it upon themselves to tell people that 700 British troops were coming. They warned them by firing gunshots, ringing bells and sending signals.
  • Concord

    70 minutemen were seen drawing lines on the village green and the british commander told them to back down and leave.
  • Bukner Hill

    When Thomas Gage was on Breeds Hill he decided to strike Militianmen.The colonist ended up losing 450 men and the british over 1,000.
  • New york

    The British tried to seize NYC in hopes to stop the rebellion isolating New England. The had around 32,000 soldiers but they soon gave up because they were poorly trained.
  • Philadelphia

    Colonial militia was appointed the Continental Army due to it being the best decision among many. Then George Washington was appointed its commander, this decision took time because there was a lot of debate.
  • Saratoga

    Burgoyne took his soldiers for granted and they never helped him fight. This resulted in him surrendering in Philadelphia when he was surrounded by American troops.
  • Valley Forge

    Even though that continental army was low on supplies they fought to stay alive. This resulted in around 2,000 soldiers dying yet this did not stop the surviving soldiers to continue fighting.
  • Marquis De Lafayette

    They offered their help to the continental army in Valley forge since they were a talented drill team. Then the continental army became a strong independent army which was relied on very much.
  • Yorktown

    The army included around 7,500 troops and were sent to camp in between James and York rivers.
