Treaty of Paris
This ended the French and Indian War. France gave up all of their territories ending the foreign military threat to the British. -
Proclomation of 1763
This proclomation declared that settlers couldn't go past the Appalachian Mountains. -

Britain started taxing stamps for the colonists to pay for debt caused by the war. -
Quartering Act
This said that all colonists had to house and provide anything needed for the British soldiers which angered the colonists. -

These people were loyal to the crown (British). They didn't agree with the colonists. -

These were people that were most likely colonists. They didn't agree with the British. -
Townshend Acts
These acts were trying to avoid imperial expenses on the colonies. They included taxes and duties on glass, lead, paint, paper, and tea. This was to help pay for debt caused by the war. -
Hessians
Hessians were German auxilaries from the 18th century. Nearly 30,000 served in the colonies during the war. -
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was a killing of 5 colonists by British regulars. This was a result of the taxes imposed by the Townshend Acts to pay for the debts caused by war. -
Boston Tea Party
Colonists were angry about the taxes put on tea and other goods due to the war. They dressed up as Indians and dumped the tea on ships overboard into the Boston Harbor. -
Sons of Liberty
They were a group of patriots that began in the North American British Colonies. The group formed to protect the rights of colonists and undertook the Boston Tea Party. -
Intolerable Acts
The government used a lot of money on troops and equipment to gain control of Massachusetts using these acts. The Townshend Acts made a small amount of money which was spent on these acts in attempt to make more. -
First Continental Congress
All colonies except Georgia sent delegates to this meeting. They were elected by the people, colonial legislature. Colonies proposed to seek a resolution with England. -

Benedict Arnold was originally a general for the colonist army, but started working for the British. He became commander of a colonist fort and planned to surrender it to the British. After his plan was exposed he became a fbrigadeer general for the British. -
Lord Cornwallis
He was a British Officer and colonial administrator. He surrendered in 1781 to an American and French force at the Siege of Yorktown. This ended hostilities in North America -
