Time of events leading to the revolution

  • Quartering Act

Great Britain declares that their troops can be assigned to homes of the colonists, and that they must be sheltered and fed. This made the privacy of these designated households go down, and that made the people angry since they new that Britain had enough money to fix the barracks, but were just too lazy to actually go through and fix them, and used the people's houses as a loophole to not fix the barracks. They then began to riot at the soldiers, and tried tp keep them at bay.
  • The Boston Massacre

5 Bostonians were killed by British soldiers after they threw snowballs and sticks at them. The bostonians had major reactions, and after the massacre they were more cautious around british soldiers. Also, they were outraged and this further powered them to try and remove the british command from the colonist's properties and areas. Later, they tried top get the british out by cutting their incomes, like tea.
  • Boston Tea Party

The sons of liberty destroy a large shipment of tea from Great Britian, shwoing their rebellion. this cut the economy of great britain. after this, the soldiers of britain got more strict and didnt allow boston harbour to ship goods. Unfortunatley that means that the American traders lost their income, so they began to keep cutting off the british supplies. Eventually there were wars outside of boston, in regards to the royal revolts from the king
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

The Americans fought 2,200 British troops. They suffered a loss, but they still managed to kill a whopping 1,000 British troops, which affected their control over the area. however, a loss is a loss, so the American army suffered a large amount of casualties. This also got the American soldiers fired up to start opposing great britain more, as they just wanted liberty. Eventually they would sign in the French to further ally them.
  • Treaty of Alliance with France

America signs an allianvce with france against Great Britain so they can fight together against the king and his soldiers. This gave the americans more of a backbone against britain and they now had a major ally. Now, whenever the American oppose britain in something, they knew they could call to the french for support. this even got spain to later sign into the alliance, which eventualy caused the overthrowing of Great Britain. Americans and the french both were pleased, s they ovethrew G.B.
