    Colonists were taxed for Sugar and Molasses.
    Because of this Sam Adams founded the Commitee of Correspondence, to help with communication between the colonies.
  • Event: Stamp Act

    Taxes colonists on paper goods such as;
    Newspapers, Stamps, Licenses, and Colonial Paper Products.
    It costed a penny, and the money they earned went towards the war.
  • Event: Boston Massacre

    Event: Boston Massacre
    A British guard had an argument with a colonists, and things had gotten out of hand. The guard struck the colonists, and by then more and more people had gathered around. 5 people were shot and killed, two were young of age, and one was a black man.

    Taxed colonists for the importeed tea. They couldn't buy it directly from East India Company.
  • Event: Boston Tea Party

    Colonists, desguised as Indians, snuck up onto 3 ships full of tea. The colonists took the tea and dumped it over-board into the Boston Harbor.

    The intolerable acts, were supposedly passed the in the Spring of 1774, and although no exact dates were recirded we do know they were passed because of the actions of the colonists. There are 5 laws.
  • Battle of: Lextington (Lost)

    The battle of Lexington, near Concord, 70 armed minutemen waited the arrival of the British. When the British were in sight, Patriot John Parker yelled, "Don't fire unless fired upon". The battle started with a single shot called, The Shot Heard Round' the World. Nobody knows who shot, but the war began at once. The battle lasted only a few minutes, and at the end of the battle 8 patriots were left dead, and 10 wounded.

    In this battle, the British had to retreat twice, and on their third try, the Patriots had run out of ammo and had to retreat.
  • Battle of: Dorchester Heights (Victory)

    General Washington stationed cannon on top of Nook's Hill, over William Howe's (British) troops. Howe first surrender and finally retreated on March 7th, from Boston to Canada.
  • Battle of: Trenton (Victory)

    On Christmas night, 2,400 of Washington's men, snuck up onto drunk, and sleeping Hessians, through the ice-filled Delaware River. Most of the men were without shoes but trekked on. The Hessians were forced to surrender. It was an important victory for the Patriots.

    The battle of Saratoga was the turning point of the Revolutionary War. The Patriots had surrounded John Burgoyne's army (British), and forced them to surrender.
  • Battle of: Yorktown (Victory)

    Battle of: Yorktown (Victory)
    The battle of Yorktown was the last major battle of the Revolutionary War. The Patriots surrounded General Cornwalli's 16,000 men, from nearly every direction. The French fleets had also blocked the Chesapeake River from allowing anyone to enter or leave. Cornwallis was forced to surrender, he sent a drummer with a white flag to show that the war was over and we had won!
