  • South Africa

    South Africa continues non democratic system of government which was based on discrimination known as "aparthied", in which white South Africans ruled over non white South Africans. Reagan attacked after a international incident which brought light to their cruelty. He then saw them as an anti communist ally.
  • Angola War of Independance

    Communist were trying to take over Angola and Reagon's Admin. offered secretley aid to help fend off communism
  • New Policy

    The four pillars of the policies were to:
    reduce marginal tax rates on income from labor and capital;
    reduce regulation;
    control the money supply to reduce inflation.
    reduce the growth of government spending;
  • Oil Policy

    Reagan ended the price controls on domestic oil started by Nixon which lead to the 1973 oil crisis and the 1979 energy crisis. The price of oil subsequently dropped, and the 1980s did not see the gasoline lines and fuel shortages that the 1970s had.
  • Automobile Deal

    In 1981, to protect domestic auto sales the Reagan administration signed an agreement with Japan that it would not import more than 1.67 million cars into the United States, which would be one in four cars sold in America. This helped boost our automobile industry.
  • Defense Spending

    In 1983, Reagan introduced the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI), a defense project. The intended goal was to make the US invulnerable to a Soviet missile attack by placing missiles in space and vaporizing those of the Soviets, upon a nuclear attack. Sadly the project was cancelled due to the limit of technology at that time.
  • First Ambassador

    The first American Ambassador to the "Holy See" or otherwise known as the Vatican.
  • Combodia Resistance

    Nixon started to send aid into cambodia to a anti communist resistance.
  • Libyan Bombing??

    Libya's new Pres became the CIA's public enemy #1 when they found out that he was apart of the "Unholy Trinity" which consisted of communist leaders. USA was on edge on what to do until a bomb struck on a base in Berlin killing many American troops, Nixon did not hesitate to invade Libya.
  • Raise the Roof

    In 1986, Reagan removed the solar panels that his predecessor Carter had installed on the roof of the White House’s West Wing, citing a damaged roof.
