At this time, I was about 5 years old and would look at picture books as my mom and dad read to me. I would also sound out some words as they were being said to grasp them. -
When I started Kindergarten at the age of six, I began reading Dr. Seuss books with my parents and teachers to gain knowledge of new words. -
From the beginning of elementary school, I learned basic words and phrases such as, "I rode the school bus to school today". Also began reading basic 2nd grade texts such as Hungry Hungry Caterpillar or Goodnight Moon -
In middle school I was reading my peers essays and having to peer review their work to help them become better writers and readers. -
By 5th grade, I was reading at a middle school. I mostly read Magic Treehouse books. -
When I was in 11th grade, we read the whole Hunger Games series as a class project. We had to write papers based around each book to show our understanding of the text. -
Senior year was based around various Novels and Shakespeare's many writings. These readings included, Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, and Of Mice and Men. -
For the last few years, I have submerged myself into Natasha Preston Novels. These novels are suspenseful and use some words I still do not know at times.
