Reading History

  • Kindergarten

    Kindergarten
I had a Kindergarten teacher that had a tee-pee set up in the classroom for quiet time, and it is the first thing I remember to get me really excited about reading.
  • A.R tests

    A.R tests
We had accelerated reading tests that we were required to take after reading our books, and I loved reading so much that I would take other students' tests for them.
  • Chapter books

    Chapter books
I began reading at a higher level before other students in my class. The first chapter books I began reading were the Cam Jansen Mystery books. I probably read all of them.
  • Babysitters Club

    Babysitters Club
I also loved reading the Babysitter Club chapter books, and still actually have them to this day.
  • Scholastic Book Fair

    Scholastic Book Fair
The book fair was my absolute favorite thing about Elementary School, and it really launched my at home book collection.
  • New School

    New School
I moved to a new school and did not know anybody, so I turned to reading books again. I was late to the Harry Potter fan club, but I still love(d) it.
  • Romance Novels

    Romance Novels
My reading now consists of reading for class and the occasional romance novel by Nicholas Sparks.
