Junior year of highschool Ray led his team to New York Championships and senior year he took them to the finals. This helped to elevate his career/interests by bringing his team to the state championships. -

Brian Leonard, Ray's backfield partner, stayed for senior year instead of entering the 2006 drafts. This gave Brian a less prominent offensive role and improved Ray's rise to stardom. -
