    Fort Sumter was the start of the great war known as the civil war. It began when the north was going to resupply an old army base. The north had no idea that the south were going to ambush them. The south attacked and took all there resources. The south made the north retreat and the north told the president what had happen and telling him the start of the war. It happened to be on the water so they also lost a warship. Significance This is the start of the war which is really important

    Gettysburg battle lasted around three days of straight battling. Both sides sent there strongest forces. Each day was a hard fought battle until the third day where the north came out on top. The north had sent almost 200,000 more men then the south but they got reinforcements until they won. Significance Turning point of the war.
