    In the final years of the war, the native tribes came together to form pontiac's rebellion - 1763Natives around Great Lakes
  • French and Indian War Ends

    The long war between France and Britain ends leaving many new colonies in the Americas. Changed the Dynamic between Colonies and Mother Countries.
  • Sugar Act

    Tax on sugar do inhibit trade with South American colonies.
  • Stamp Act

    Forced colonists to use London paper for all printed materials. Heavily raised price of all paper based media.
  • Quartering Act

    Allowed British soldiers to take residence in homes. Raised hostilities between commoners and government.
  • Sons of Liberty

    Samuel Adams forms a group against British oppression.
  • Townshend Acts

    String of laws passed by the chancellor of exchequer, Charles Townshend, to raise revenues in the colonies to pay for government officials.
  • Boston Massacre

    A confrontation between protesters and soldiers leads to five civilian deaths. First major deaths of the Revolution.
  • Gaspée Affair

    After the British start raising taxes to pay for war costs, the Sons of liberty get angry. They burn down the HMS Gaspée, a british schooner, in protest.
  • Boston Tea Party

    The sons of Liberty plan another protest in which they throw a shipment of tea into the Boston harbor. This began the major patriotism and antagonizing of the British.
  • Intolerable Acts

    Final acts by Parliament. Against Boston tea party and enraged colonists because of lack of representation.
  • Continental Congress

    First organized delegation of colonists. Formed against Coercive acts.
  • Declaration of Rights

    After the Continental Congress was formed, they sent a declaration to King George III. It explained the issues of the colonies, and how they could be improved.
  • Battle of Lexington and Concord

    First Military engagement of the Revolutionary war. Began on a bridge where somone fired the first shot of the War.
