    Battle of Bunker Hill

    Colonial militia fortified the hill near Boston and repelled two British assaults before being forced to retreat on the third. The colonial militia, largely farmers and tradesmen from England, faced off the British army under command of major general William Howe. In the end the British won the battle of Bunker Hill. The significance of the battle of Bunker Hill is it proved that an inexperienced militia could fend off the British, It was one of the first revolutions against Britain.

    The Winter at Valley Forge

    The Continental Army, encamped at Valley Forge under brutal conditions, they were suffering from lack of food, clothing, and shelter, leading to widespread disease. Continental army led by George Washington, soldiers, officers, free and enslaved African Americans, and native Americans. The outcome of valley Forge is the transformation of the Continental army. The significance of this event is that the Continental army changed from a Army of poorly trained troops to a disciplined fighting force.
