This was considered progressive because it fought the negative effects of industrialization and urbanization.

    This event was social. The Children's Bureau was founded by President Taft. It served to expose the problems of child labor and inspire change in the country. Progressives fought for similar ideas.

    This event was constitutional. The 17th Amendment established that Senators were to be elected by the people, not state legislatures. This was considered progressive because it took the power away from corrupt political machines and gave it to the lower class.

    This event was constitutional. The 18th Amendment prohibited alcohol from being sold, manufactured, and moved in the country. This aligned with progressive ideas because it aimed to cut down on poverty and crime, improving the quality of society in general.

    This event was constitutional. The 19th Amendment finally gave women the right to vote. This was progressive because it made society fairer for half of the population. Additionally, a lot of women were progressives.
