  • Coal Strike of 1902

    The coal strike was done by the United Mine Workers. They demanded higher wadges, shorter hours and recognition of their union. The public sided with the workers, but businesses, buildings and schools were forced to close because there was no heat.
    Fostering Efficiency: The act is trying to make working conditions better and more safe for the workers in the factory.
  • Food and Drug Administration

    The FDA was established to make sure that food and drugs inspect certain regulations and requirements for all the consumers.
    Protecting social welfare: The FDA was trying to protect and help the consumers. They are trying to make sure all of the customers get the best quality of food and drugs that can be.
  • Meat Inspection Act

    The meat inspection act was signed by president Theodore Roosevelt on June 30th in 1906. The law made sure that meat cleared sanity inspection and was able to be consumed by humans.
    Protecting social welfare: President Theodore was trying to improve the health regulations for the consumers. He is helping all types of people from the poor to the rich.

    There was concern about the nations waste of both human and natural responses. There were many goals that were set in place.

  • Children's Bureau

    In the early 1900's, there was a time where the United States was attempting to end all child labors and abusive child labors. President Taft signed a bill that made children and their health and well being a priority. Today, it is still in affect and currently helps kids of all ages around the world.
    Protecting social welfare: The Children's Bureau was able to help improve kids lives.
  • Created Department of Commerce and Labor

    Congress established the Department of Commerce and Labor. Theodore Roosevelt signed it in 1903. The eight bureaus dealt with many things in the world such as immigration and the us census.
    Creating economic reform: This act had the government created an act that made the government responsible.
  • System of National Parks

    On August 25, 1916, president Woodrow Wilson signed the National Park Service. This act was responsible for protecting 35 national parks and monuments.
    Creating economic reform: This act has to do with the government and how they can protect natural resources.
  • Newlands Reclamation Act

    The Newland Reclamation act was a law that allowed the government to get involved in creating immigration projects in the west. Projects such as damns and man-made rivers were build and assembled in the west. This act allowed damn to build up, making it possible for farmers to grow and produce their crops.
    Fostering Efficiency: Roosevelt was able to use natural resources to help farmers have better crops and livestock.
  • United States Forest service

    Congress passed the Forest Reserve of 1891. The law made it possible for the president to break up land in the west for conservation. Today, they are called forest preserves.
    Creating economic reform: The act allowed land to be preserve the land for future generations to come. The government was able to protect these forest preserves.
