    Roosevelt broke the tradition Washington had made- a two-term presidnecy by running for reelection. Wilkie, FDR's opponent, supported him in aiding Britain, to isolations dissapointment. Rooselvelt also promised to keep them out of war. The voters chose the candidate that they knew best, so FDR won with 55% more.
  • The Axis Powers Form

    The Axis Powers Form
    Germant, Italy, and Japan signed Tripartite Pact offically becoming the Axis Powers. This alliance was formed to keep the US out of war. If they attack one country in the Axis, they must deal with all the countries.
  • Lend-Lease Act of 1941

    Roosevelt tried to help Britian who no more cash to spend in the arsenal of democracy, by suggesting the lend-lease policy. The presidnet would lend or lease arms to “any country whose defense was vital to the United States.” Isolations disagreed with this strongly but the citizens loved it so Congress passed the policy.

    Hitler broke the agreement between him and Stalin made in 1939 to not got to war and invade the Soviet Union. "The enemy of my enemny is my friend". FDR sent lend-lease supplies to the Soviet Union. Roosevelt agreed with Churchill. If Hitler invaded, the British better be prepared to work with "the devil".

    FDR and Churchill secretly met in the Summit aboard the USS Agusta to discuss the outcome of the war. They signed, together, the atlantic charger. A joint declration of war goals like freedom of the seas, collected secruity, economic cooperation, disarmament, and self determination. The US is now further choosing to support the allies instead of the acxiz powers.

    America attacked by Germans
    A German submarine fired on the U.S. destroyer in the Atlantic. Rossevelt ordered a response; he ordered them to shoot German submarines on sight. An American merchant ship was sunk off Greenaland. A U-boat torpeoded the U.S. destroyer and killed 11 people. They sank the U.S. destroyer killing more than 100 sailors. The Senate finally repealed the ban against arming merhcant ships. A formal declaration of full-scale war seemed unenviateable.
  • Attack on Pearl Harbor

    Attack on Pearl Harbor
    In Hawaii, peace talks were going on for months and then Japan sent a decoded message to Roosevelt saying they were rejecting all American Peace proposals. - Which meant war. The next morning, a japanese bomb-diver swept over Pearl Harbor followed by a 180 Japanses war planes. In less than 2 hours, they killed 2,403 Americans and wounded tons.
