Programming Languages Timeline

  • Plankalkul Programming

l is a programming language designed for engineering purposes by Konrad Zuse between 1942 and 1945. It was the first high-level programming language to be designed for a computer.

    Programming Languages

I will give all of you the chronological timeline of the different programming languages (I am going off Stable release dates)
  • MATH-MATIC Programming

is the marketing name for the AT-3 compiler, an early programming language for the UNIVAC I and UNIVAC II. MATH-MATIC was written beginning around 1955 by a team led by Charles Katz under the direction of Grace Hopper. However, It was designed by Remignton Rand
  • Lisp Programming

A group or a Family of computer programming languages with a long history and a distinctive, fully parenthesized prefix notation. Originally specified in 1958, Lisp is the second-oldest high-level programming language in widespread use today. Designed by John McCarthy and developed by Steve Russell, Timothy P. Hart, and Mike Levin.
  • Basic Programming

Is a group or a family of general-purpose, high level programming languages for simplicity. First developed in 1964 by John G. Kerneny and Thomas E. Kurtz
  • LOGO Programming

an educational programming language designed and developed by Wally Feurzeig, Seymour Papert and Cynthia Solomon in 1967
  • B Programming

Developed at Bell Labs circa in 1969. It was created by Ken Thompson and Dennis Richie. Designed for recursive, Non-numeric, machine-independent applications
  • PASCAL Programming

Pascal is an imperative and procedural programming language, which Niklaus Wirth designed in 1968–69 and published in 1970, as a small, efficient language intended to encourage good programming practices. It also received the Turing Award
  • ML Programming

is a general-purpose functional programming language. It has roots in Lisp, and has been characterized as "Lisp with types". Designed by Robin Milner and many others in the University of Edinburgh.
  • ADA Programmming

First Computer Programming, Very high level computer programming Language. First developed in the 1980s by Augusta ada King
  • Java Programming

Java is a general-purpose computer-programming language that is concurrent, class-based, object-oriented, and specifically designed to have as few implementation dependencies as possible. Designed by James Gosling and developed by Sun Microsystems and first appeared in 1995
  • Visual Basic

is a third-generation event-driven programming language and integrated development environment from Microsoft for its Component Object Model programming model first released in 1991 and declared legacy during 2008. The stable release of Visual Basic was in 1990
  • Fortran

is a general-purpose, imperative programming language that is especially suited to numeric computation and scientific computing. First developed in 2008 and 2010 by John Backus and IBM
  • C Programming

is a general-purpose, imperative computer programming language, supporting structured programming, while a static type system prevents many unintended operations. First developed by Dennis Richie and Bell Labs in 2011
  • COBOL Programming

a compiled English-like computer programming language designed for business use. It is imperative, procedural and object-oriented. First developed in 2002, however it was unstable at the time and it became stable and released in 2014 by Howard Bromberg, Howard Discount, Vernon Reeves, Jean E. Sammet, William Selden and Gertrude Tierney
  • RPG Programming

is a high-level programming language for business applications. RPG is an IBM proprietary programming language and its later versions are available only on IBM i- or OS/400-based systems. First appeared in 1959, but a stable release came forth in May of 2014
  • SQL Programming

is a domain-specific language used in programming and designed for managing data held in a relational database management system, or for stream processing in a relational data stream management system. Developed by ISO/IEC AND RELEASE IN December of 2016.
  • Javascript Programming

is a high-level, dynamic, weakly typed, prototype-based, multi-paradigm, and interpreted programming language. Designed by Brendan Eich and developed by three corporations and organizations called: Netscape Communications , Mozilla Foundation and Emca International in 1995. However, A stable release was introduced in June of 2017
  • Delphi Programming

is an integrated development environment (IDE) for desktop, mobile, web, and console applications. It's also an event driven language. First developed by a company called the Embarcadero Technologies in 2009, but it was unstable at the time. A stable release came forth in August 8, 2017
  • Phython Programming

is an interpreted high-level programming language for general-purpose programming. Created by Guido van Rossum and first released in 1991, However, there are more stable releases that came out in December and September of 2017
  • C++ Programming

is a general-purpose programming language. It has object-oriented and generic programming features, while also providing facilities for low-level memory manipulation. First developed by Bjarne Stroustrup in 2017
  • PHP Programming

server-side scripting language designed for web development but also used as a general-purpose programming language. Originally created by Rasmus Lerdorf and developed by Zend technologies in 1994,however the newer stable release was January 4 2018. PHP reference implementation is now produced by The PHP Group.
